He will whine only when he needs to go out and falls right back asleep. Though we have not started formal training, which we will start with puppy training class next week, Denver knows his basic commands. He has been an excellent addition to our family. He loves playing with other dogs, meeting new people and running around the yard (picking up every stick of course). He graduated puppy kindergarten last week and earned his AKC trick puppy title! She is super smart! We are in the middle of puppy kindergarten training classes at the local Dog Foundation and plan to go through a few of there other classes they offer as well. We are excited to see her grow and watch her personality shine through! Read More Finn Just like his parents, he loves to be close to us and nuzzle our necks, is an extreme cuddler, and gives lots of kisses. We couldn't be happier about it because we were hoping for a very affectionate dog. He loves to play in the snow and chase us around the yard. She continues to be a real sweetheart - we couldn't be happier. She is beautiful and has sweet disposition. Read More Mack He loves being at the farm every day finding sticks, chasing the kitties or birds, managing to cover himself in cockleburs and being my right hand "man" for any task. He loves going for rides in the truck, but his most favorite day of the year is when I carry that 73 lb frame up the ladder for a day in the combine. Read More Margo Margo has been doing so great. We call her our little snow puppy, she loves playing outside in the snow! She loves people and is always going up to our friends and family to get her pets in. This is our first dog and it was definitely challenging at first but once a couple months went by and a couple of shoes were chewn through you could notice how quick he would learn things and how good his demeanor is. On busy days, she gets to be the "canine concierge" and walk around the lobby getting pets and love from students and guests. Read More Misha Bear I have to mention again how gorgeous she is… the vet spent about 20 minutes telling us how perfect she is in every way and cars slow down when they drive by to look at her. She is getting used to being brushed and puffs up just like a cotton ball. He’s a huge baby still and LOVES his pool, going on walks, and chasing his human brothers! Read More Oakly Oakley graduated from his Puppy Socialization class today! It was a class based on socializing him to people, other dogs, various loud noises (thunder, fireworks, vacuum cleaner, etc.) and various objects and places. Next we will start an obedience class at the end of April, although he is already very smart. Read More Pepper Pepper is doing well. We have seen a lot of progress already. She is a lot of fun. Read More Poppy Poppy is eating well and growing fast! She really loves the girls. They have all been spending a ton of time playing in our yard. She wasn't so sure about bubbles or the swing at first, but now she is fine with all the action. Read More Ruby We are enjoying her so much! She loved to play ball and has learned how to fetch and return. She loves tennis balls and recently got her first bird toy. She has learned to sit and stay. She’s so sweet, snuggly, silly, adventurous and the best family dog. Read More Watson Watson has been such an amazing puppy- he is so calm, cuddly, loves to play, and loves training (especially when his food is involved)! Read More Whiskey Water fetch is now his favorite game. He went fishing for the first time a few weeks ago and earlier this week he took his first trip into the BWCA. His training is going well and Ruth is starting the long process of getting him certified as a service dog. Adopting a Vorderosa Retired Dog can be just as rewarding as bringing home a puppy—sometimes even more so. Our retired dogs are affectionate companions who love to cuddle, enjoy calm companionship, and are past the high-energy demands of puppyhood. They are well-socialized, trained, and eager to become loyal members of a new family. At Vorderosa Retrievers, we occasionally have retired dogs available for adoption and are looking for loving, relaxed homes where they can thrive. Retired Dogs 1 Application Let us know you're interested in adopting a Vorderosa Retired Dog by filling out our Application Form. We maintain an ongoing Retired Dog Adoption List, and please note that there may be a wait until a dog becomes available. All of our Vorderosa Retired Dogs are well-socialized and trained, but they'll still need continued guidance and support as they adjust to their new home 2 Interview After reviewing your application, Vorderosa Retrievers will contact you by email with any follow-up questions. We will also notify you of your application status once a decision has been made. Our goal is to place each Vorderosa Retired Dog in a lifelong home filled with love, safety, continued training, and the happiness they deserve. 3 Pickup Day All of our retired dogs will be up to date on vaccinations before joining their new families. You’ll receive the AKC paperwork to transfer ownership into your name. Once a retired dog becomes available for you, Vorderosa Retrievers will coordinate a convenient pick-up time. Please note: We value face-to-face connections and do not ship our dogs. All adoptions are completed in person.

From initial inquiry to meeting your puppy, we guide you every step of the way. Our adoption process is simple and stress-free! Start by filling out the Application Form and waiting for our approval before sending your initial deposit. Once approved, a second deposit will be required when your puppy is born. As you eagerly await Puppy Pickup Day, be sure to check our website for the latest Pupdates on the litter. We’re here to guide you every step of the way as you prepare to welcome your new furry friend home! 1 Reservation Deposit Interested in a future litter? Fill out our Application Form to let us know! We maintain an ongoing General Reservation List for both American and English Golden Retriever puppies. Depending on your preference (American vs. English, male vs. female), there may be a wait for your ideal match. Application 2 Puppy Deposit A $500 non-refundable Puppy Deposit is required to reserve your puppy once it is born. You’ll receive an email with all the details. Pick of the litter is based on the order in which deposits are received. Your deposit will be applied to the total purchase price of the puppy. Please review our Vorderosa Retrievers Health Contract to understand your responsibilities as a new puppy owner. Stay updated on the litter by visiting our website for Pupdates! 🐾 3 Puppy Pickup You will receive your puppy’s pickup date and time by email at least one month in advance. The remaining balance (puppy cost + tax – deposit) is due at pickup. If you’re unable to come on your scheduled pickup date, you’ll need to choose from the puppies available on the date you can attend. Boarding fees may apply. For the safety of all puppies, please do not bring other pets with you on pickup day. We only offer in-person, face-to-face transactions. We do not ship or deliver puppies or dogs.
